UKT Community Spirit Shines at Successful Bunnings Fundraiser

Umoja Kenya Townsville (UKT) members turned up in great numbers for a vibrant and highly successful Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fundraiser held on Saturday, 21 March 2026. The day was filled with excitement, teamwork, and genuine community connection as volunteers worked seamlessly across coordinated shifts to ensure a smooth and enjoyable event.

All required protocols were carefully observed under the guidance of dedicated BBQ captains, reflecting the association’s strong commitment to organisation and safety. Beyond fundraising, the event created a lively space for members to socialise, share laughter, and warmly welcome new faces into the UKT family.

As one member joyfully reflected, “Yesterday was an absolute success! Thank you Sidney for the good coordination. I saw many go above their scheduled shifts with selfless dedication — and even our young ones impressed us with their ‘AI brains’ quickly calculating the dollars while some of us struggled with coins!”
