PRESIDENT Lordmas Obare

I am the current UKT President for the financial year ending June 2026.
I am driving positive change and fostering connections within our vibrant community. I am passionate about diversity & inclusivity, building partnerships, community dsevelopment, and engagement. Together we can achieve much.
Secretary Irene Makenna
I am the current UKT Secretary for the financial year ending June 2026.
My mission is to provide strong administrative support to the Executive Committee to enable seamless operations with a view to achieving the UKT objectives. I have a passion to see a well-cared-for and united Community - a true home away from home.

Finance Director Jim Mugambi
I am the current UKT Finance Director for the financial year ending in June 2026.
My mission is to ensure accurate and reliable financial information and reporting that reflects clarity in the organisation's financial status and ensuring quality decision-making. Through these objectives, I seek to forge a sustainable and desirable future for UKT and its members.
IT Director Dominic Owato
I am the current UKT IT & Communications Director for the financial year ending June 2026.
My mandate is assisting the executive committee manage UKT's ICT portfolio in an efficient and effective manner to ensure optimal use of resources, effective administration of communication channels, proper maintenance and safe storage of records/documents, and ensuring positive public relations, image, and a vibrant social media presence for the association.


Projects Director Sidney Musumba
As we strive for greater heights, greater achievements and individual growth, the pursuit for success creates uncertainties which result into positivity beyond our expectations. We move to different environments which brings about occurrences of rise of unexpected relationships but the consistency about all this is we still come across community. Being away from home makes us realise how to embrace community and with that comes deligent service.

Welfare Director Waceke Njoroge
I am the Welfare Director of UKT for the current financial year ending June 2026.
Iam honoured to serve our vibrant and diverse community. My role focuses on ensuring that the welfare needs of our members are met with empathy, inclusivity, and accountability.
My manadate is to work alongside the executive committee to support members through life's different seasons - from celebrating joyous milestones to walking together through times of challenges.
This year, my focus is on strengthening our welfare systems to make them more responsive and accessible. I aim to enhance the Benevolent Fund operations, coordinate timely support for members in need, and ensure clear compassionate communication between the committee and the wider community.
Beyond my role in UKT, I am deeply passionate about community service and youth empowerment. With a background in social services and case management, I bring a people-centred approach that prioritises understanding, compassion, and collaboration. I believe that true welfare is not only about offering assistance in times of need but also about building a supportive environment where every member feels valued and connected.
Together, we can continue to build a compassionate and united Umoja Kenya Townsville family - one that true lives up to the spirit of Umoja (unity).


Students Representative Kim Kimathi
I am the current UKT Students Representative for the financial year 2024.
My role is to effectively listen, collate and communicate the views of all the students I represent, taking these views to committee meetings to be acted upon and help students
overcome challenges to ensure smooth learning and well-being.
